The Saragusta Story
How it all began
Cheers to dreams
—
Throughout the years our lives have changed in ways we couldn’t imagine, but two things have always remained constant; a passion for family times that raise smiles and glasses, and a long-held dream to create our own line of spirits.
We’ve always enjoyed seeking out the amazing small-batch distilleries we are lucky enough to have dotted around the UK, and learning how they craft their flavours by hand. While soaking everything up, we’ve always harboured the desire to join their ranks, but fate and timing never seemed to be on our side.
The global covid-19 pandemic delivered stress, sadness and uncertainty like no time in recent memory. But it also motivated us to walk down another path and take a chance on founding the Saragusta Spirits Company.
We hope you’ll join us on this journey, raising your smiles and glasses along the way.
And the rest is history…
We took inspiration for our first product, Knot Garden Gin, from the lovely Cambridgeshire village we have called home for the last 15 years. Synonymous with the village is the amazing 15th Century Buckden Towers, home to Katherine of Aragon for a time following the annulment of her marriage to King Henry VIII. In particular, the beautiful walled Knot Garden at the towers, built in dedication to Queen Katherine, inspired the choice of our core botanicals; sweet briar rose, pomegranate and almond.
With our heads full of many more interesting ways of putting a different spin on old themes, we very much look forward to sharing these with you over the coming years.
